Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Grand Am and 2003 Oldsmobile Alero. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Important:  A new sunroof module assembly will not have the sunroof window or sunshade as components of the new service part.

  1. The old sunroof window and sunshade will need to be installed to the new sunroof module assembly.
  2. Remove the sunroof window. Refer to SUNROOF WINDOW REPLACEMENT  .
  3. Remove the sunshade panel. Refer to SUNROOF SUNSHADE PANEL REPLACEMENT  .
  4. Remove the headliner. Refer to HEADLINER REPLACEMENT in Interior Trim.
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the sunroof module.

  6. Disconnect the front and rear drain hoses from the sunroof module.

  7. Have an assistant support the sunroof module.
  8. Remove the bolts from the sunroof module.
  9. Remove the sunroof module from the vehicle with an assistant.
