Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Grand Am and 2003 Oldsmobile Alero. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: To prevent equipment damage, never connect or disconnect the wiring harness connection from the EBCM with the ignition switch in the ON position.
  1. Raise the front floor center console armrest.
  2. Remove the two screws that retain the front floor console trim plate to the front floor console.
  3. Open the front floor console cupholder.
  4. Gently pull up on the front floor console trim plate to gain access to the traction control switch.
  5. Disconnect the traction control switch wiring harness connector from the traction control switch.

  6. Remove the traction control switch from the front floor console trim plate. To avoid damage to the front floor console trim plate, use a small flat bladed tool on the back side of the traction control switch to release the retaining clips.
