Installation Procedure

  1. Install the hood latch support to the vehicle.
    2. Fig 1: Hood Latch Support Bracket Bolts At Upper Tie Bar

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the hood latch support bolts to the upper tie bar.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  3. Install the hood latch support nut to the lower tie bar.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  4. Install the bolts to the upper support bracket at the front bumper fascia. Refer to Fascia Support Replacement - Front Bumper Upper (Impala) or Fascia Support Replacement - Front Bumper Upper (Monte Carlo) in Bumpers.
  5. Install the hood latch to the hood latch support. Refer to Hood Latch Replacement .
  6. Install the upper radiator air baffle. Refer to Radiator Air Baffle and Deflector Replacement - Upper in Engine Cooling.
  7. Close the hood.
