Installation Procedure

  1. Install new sealing washers onto the A/C compressor hose assembly. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement .
  2. Install the A/C compressor hose to the A/C compressor.

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Install the A/C compressor hose bolt to the A/C compressor.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 33 N.m (24 lb ft).

  6. Install the lower air deflector. Refer to Radiator Air Baffle and Deflector Replacement - Lower in Engine Cooling.
  7. Install the new O-ring seal to the A/C compressor hose assembly. Refer to O-Ring Replacement .
  8. Install the A/C compressor hose to the accumulator.
  9. Install the A/C compressor hose nut onto the accumulator.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

  11. Install the A/C compressor hose to the condenser.
  12. Install the A/C compressor hose nut to the condenser.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

  13. Install the air cleaner assembly.
  14. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  15. Leak test the fittings of the component using J 39400-A  . See Special Tools .
