Engine Controls Removal & Installation: Introduction
WARNING:
Before servicing any electrical component, the ignition key must be in the OFF or LOCK position and all electrical loads must be OFF, unless instructed otherwise in these procedures. If a tool or equipment could come in contact with a live exposed electrical terminal, also disconnect the negative battery cable. Failure to follow these precautions may cause personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.
CAUTION:
When battery and some PCM input devices are disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES - DOMESTIC

This article covers removal, overhaul and installation procedures (when given by manufacturer). If component removal and installation is primarily an unbolt and bolt-on procedure, only a torque specification may be supplied.
