Circuit Description

Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR) communicates with Body Control Module (BCM) through Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) serial data circuit (Black/White wire). When any button on a RKE transmitter is pressed, transmitter sends a signal to RCDLR. RCDLR sends a lock or unlock request to BCM, depending on which button is pressed on transmitter. On vehicles equipped with Content Theft Deterrent (CTD) system, RCDLR may also send a panic alarm request to BCM. BCM receives message and performs appropriate function. BCM also uses RKE serial data circuit in order to communicate with RCDLR when programming transmitters.

DTC sets when BCM detects an open, short to ground or short to voltage in RKE serial data circuit between BCM and RCDLR. When DTC sets, RKE system will not operate (power sliding door will continue to operate with RKE transmitter). DTC will clear when open, short to ground or short to voltage is no longer present and on-board diagnostic system is used to clear DTC. See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTICS  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
