Cruise Control Systems: Description

Cruise control system maintains a desired vehicle speed under normal driving conditions. Steep grades may cause variations in selected speeds. System has capability to cruise, coast, resume speed, accelerate, and tap-up and tap-down.
Main components of cruise control system include Powertrain Control Module (PCM), cruise control main switch, cruise control functional switches, Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS), Transmission Range (TR) switch, Throttle Position (TP) sensor, cruise control servo, clutch control release switch and brakelight switch.
