Anti-Lock Brake System - 4WAL: Description

Tracker is equipped with Delco DBC7 non-integral Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS). ABS system uses 3 channel system with 2 valves per channel. ABS operates on each front wheel separately, and both rear wheels together. ABS system consists of Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM), Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (BPMV), 4 wheel speed sensors (WSS), 3 warning lights and brakelight switch.

EBCM uses signals from WSS to determine when a wheel is about to lock-up, and adjusts hydraulic pressure to maintain optimum braking. ABS cannot increase brake pressure greater than master cylinder pressure generated by driver. ABS cannot apply brakes by itself.
