Electronic Brake Control Module: Installation
NOTE:
Use correct fastener in correct location. Replacement fasteners must be correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage fastener. Use correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install BPMV assembly (3) to bracket (4). See Figure . Secure with 3 nuts. Tighten brake modulator assembly nuts to 21 N.m (15 ft. lbs.).
- Remove plugs from brake pipes and connect brake pipes to BPMV assembly (3). Tighten brake pipe fittings nuts to 15 N.m (11 INCH lbs.).
- Connect EBCM electrical connector (2).
- Install air cleaner assembly.
- Bleed brake system. See appropriate ANTI-LOCK article in BRAKES.
- Perform anti-lock brake diagnostic system check. See ANTI-LOCK BRAKE DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
