Instrument Panel Center Trim Plate: Removal

  1. Remove the instrument panel ashtray from the instrument panel ashtray housing by depressing the spring loaded tab and pulling rearward. Using a taped flat bladed tool, gently pry and release the 6 retaining clips which secure the instrument panel accessory center trim plate (1) to the instrument panel assembly. See Figure .
  2. Disconnect the 2 cigar lighter electrical connectors and the instrument panel ashtray bulb socket. Remove the cigar lighter assembly, if necessary. See CIGAR LIGHTER  . Remove the instrument panel ashtray housing, if necessary.
