Test I: Front Wipers Inoperative With Switch In Lo, Delay & Mist Positions (Models With Intermittent Wiper System)

  1. If front wiper/washer system operation check has been performed, go to next step. If front wiper/washer system operation check has not been performed, perform front wiper/washer system operation check. See FRONT WIPER/WASHER SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
  2. Using test light connected to battery voltage, backprobe junction block harness connector C3 terminal No. 9 (Black wire). See Figure and Figure . If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step  5 .
  3. Disconnect junction block 12-pin harness connector C3. Measure resistance between junction block harness connector C3 terminal No. 9 and combination switch Black wire terminal. If resistance is less than 2 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 2 ohms or more, go to step  6 .
  4. Replace combination switch. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINTS SYSTEMS article. After repair, perform FRONT WIPER/WASHER SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
  5. Replace junction block. After repair, perform FRONT WIPER/WASHER SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
  6. Repair open in Black wire between combination switch and junction block. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . After repair, perform FRONT WIPER/WASHER SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
