Telescoping Steering Column Calibration: Notes

After replacement of Seat Control Module (SCM), it is necessary to program telescoping IN/OUT soft stops. Each soft stop is a programmable end of travel that is approximately 0.5" (1.3 cm) from mechanical end of travel. Steering column has a soft stop set at each end of telescoping IN/OUT movement. System uses soft stops to prevent wear on system by ensuring steering column movement stops before reaching mechanical end of travel in either direction.
