Dismounting/Mounting Procedures: Notes

CAUTION: The tire should be dismounted from the wheel using the tire changer manufacturer's instructions. Use the following information to avoid damage during the dismounting/mounting procedures.
CAUTION: If vehicle is equipped with "run-flat" tires or Extended Mobility Tires (EMT), it is recommended that only specially trained technicians dismount/mount these tires. A tire inflation safety cage and clip-on air hose are required, and a rim clamp style tire changer is recommended.
NOTE: If vehicle's tires are replaced with those not having a TPC Spec number, the TPM system may give an inaccurate low pressure warning. Non-TPC Spec tires may give a low pressure warning that is higher or lower than the proper warning level achieved by TPC Spec numbered tires.
NOTE: If the wheels have been rotated, or tire pressure sensor or RCDLR is replaced, the TPM system needs to relearn tire pressure sensor IDs. See RESET PROCEDURES .
NOTE: Due to front/rear tire size differences and/or unidirectional tires, some models may not be able to rotate tires. Follow vehicle manufacturer's recommended procedures.
