  2. Operate lumbar system. If system operates correctly, check for intermittent problem. If system does not operate correctly, go to next step.
  3. Disconnect inoperative lumbar switch. Using a test lamp connected to ground, probe battery positive voltage circuit terminal "H" (Orange wire) at inoperative lumbar switch harness connector. If test lamp illuminates, go to next step. If test lamp does not illuminate, go to step  12 .
  4. Connect a test lamp between terminal "E" (Black wire) at lumbar switch harness connector and battery positive voltage. If test lamp illuminates, go to next step. If test lamp does not illuminate, go to step  13 .
  5. Connect inoperative lumbar switch. Disconnect inoperative lumbar motor. Using a test lamp connected to ground, probe terminal "B" (Pink wire) at lumbar motor harness connector. Operate lumbar switch to IN position and observe test lamp. If test lamp illuminates, go to next step. If test lamp does not illuminate, go to step  8 .
  6. Using a test lamp connected to ground, probe terminal "A" (Dark Blue wire) at lumbar motor harness connector. Operate lumbar switch to OUT position and observe test lamp. If test lamp illuminates, go to next step. If test lamp does not illuminate, go to step  9 .
  7. Connect test lamp to lumbar motor in and out circuits. Operate lumbar switch to IN and OUT positions. If test lamp illuminates, go to step  11 . If test lamp does not illuminate, go to step  10 .
  8. Test lumbar in motor control circuit (Pink wire) for an open or short to ground. If problem was found, repair as necessary and then go to step  13 . If problem is not found, go to step  10 .
  9. Test lumbar out motor control circuit (Dark Blue wire) for an open or short to ground. If problem is found, repair as necessary and then go to step  16 . If problem is not found, go to next step.
  10. Inspect for poor connections at inoperative lumbar switch connector. If problem is found, repair as necessary and then go to step  16 . If problem is not found, go to step  15 .
  11. Inspect for poor connections at inoperative lumbar motor connector. If problem is found, repair as necessary and then go to step  16 . If problem is not found, go to step  14 .
  12. Repair open or short to ground in lumbar switch battery positive voltage circuit (Orange wire). After making necessary repairs, go to step  16 .
  13. Repair open in lumbar switch ground circuit (Black wire). After making necessary repairs, go to step  16 .
  14. Replace inoperative lumbar motor. After completing repair, go to step  16 .
  15. Replace inoperative lumbar switch. See POWER SEAT ADJUSTER SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After completing repair, go to step  16 .
  16. Operate system in order to verify repair.
