Content Theft Deterrent Shock Sensor

  1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Remove left instrument panel insulator. Remove BCM PRGRM fuse. Turn ignition switch to ACC position. Seat belt indicator flashes and chime sounds 4 times, indicating correct type 4 BCM. Within one second, turn ignition switch to LOCK position, and then back to ACC position.
  2. Rotate shock sensor adjustment knob counterclockwise to decrease alarm sensitivity level or clockwise to increase sensitivity level. Shock sensor is located under dashboard assembly, to right of steering column.
  3. Rotate shock sensor adjustment knob in 30 degree increments. After adjustment, simulate a small impact to outside of vehicle. Horn will sound for 25 milliseconds when a light impact is triggered, 100 milliseconds for a heavy impact. Adjust until desired sensitivity is achieved.
  4. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Re-install fuse and insulator.
