Strut Assembly: Disassembly
- Mount Strut Compressor (J-34013-B) in Holding Fixture (J-3289-20). Mount strut assembly into strut compressor. Wear eye protection while performing this operation. Compress strut to about 1/2 its height. DO NOT bottom spring or strut rod. Using a socket, hold strut rod stationary while removing nut from top of rod.
- Install Guide Rod (J-34013-197) on strut rod to guide rod down through bearing cap of strut mount while decompressing strut spring. Remove strut and spring from compressor.
CAUTION:
Do not chip or crack coil spring coating. Coil spring damage may occur if coating is damaged.
