Removal & Installation

NOTE: Cooling system may require draining prior to removing knock sensor.

Knock Sensor (KS) is located on side of engine block. See Fig 1-Fig 5 . Disconnect negative battery cable. On 4.8L, 5.3L and 6.0L, remove intake manifold. On all models, disconnect wiring harness connector from KS. Remove KS. To install, reverse removal procedure. Install sealant to sensor threads prior to installation. Tighten KS to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
