Content Theft Deterrent System: Notes

The optional Content Theft Deterrent (CTD) anti-theft system is designed to deter vehicle vandalism and theft by disabling fuel delivery and pulsing horns and exterior lights when unauthorized vehicle entry or impact is detected. CTD system is controlled by the Body Control Module (BCM). BCM monitors doors, door locks, shock sensor and Remote Keyless Entry (RKE). BCM operates exterior lights, SECURITY indicator light and horn. BCM also communicates a fuel enable signal to PCM. Removing power and ground connections to BCM will not disarm system.

CTD system components include BCM (type 4), door lock switches, sliding door jamb switches, key cylinder lock switches, Remote Keyless Entry (RKE), power door lock switches, PCM, SECURITY indicator light, shock sensor and theft deterrent relay.

The CTD system modes are: standby, light flashing, light on, ignition on, delay, armed, re-arm wait, warning and alarm. Some modes are programmable. See PROGRAMMING  .
