Throttle Valve Cable: Installation
- If installing a new T.V. cable, first stake the T.V. cable stopper as follows:
- In order to stake the T.V. cable stopper on a new T.V. cable, bend the T.V. cable to an approximate radius of 7.87" (200 mm). See Fig 3
.
- Pull on the T.V. cable until a slight resistance is felt. Then stake the T.V. cable stopper at approximately 0.03-0.059" (0.8-1.5 mm) from the end of the T.V. cable. See Fig 3
.
- Install the T.V. cable (1) into the transaxle (2). See Fig 2
. Secure the T.V. cable with one retaining bolt. Tighten the T.V. cable retaining bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
.
- Install the T.V. cable to the T.V. cam at the valve body assembly. See Fig 1
. Install the new transaxle fluid pan gasket and transaxle fluid pan to the transaxle.
- Install the transaxle drain plug to the transaxle fluid pan and tighten the transaxle drain plug to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
.
- Install the PNP switch to the transaxle. See PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH
. Install the left splash shield to the vehicle. Secure with 6 bolts and tighten the left splash shield bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
.
- Lower the vehicle. Install the T.V. cable into the T.V. cable guide bracket at the top of the transaxle. Install the T.V. cable into T.V. cable bracket and T.V. linkage. Adjust the T.V. cable. See THROTTLE VALVE CABLE
under ADJUSTMENTS
- Connect the negative battery cable. Fill transaxle with appropriate fluid to proper level. See LUBRICATION
