Left Power Mirror Inoperative

  1. If power mirrors system check was not performed, go to SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  under TROUBLE SHOOTING. If power mirrors system check was performed, go to next step.
  2. If left mirror does not move in any direction, go to step  12 . If left mirror moves in any direction, go to next step.
  3. If left mirror moves left and right, go to next step. If left mirror does not move left and right, go to step  9 .
  4. Disconnect left outside mirror connector. Using a test light connected to ground, probe mirror connector terminal No. 3 (Light Green wire). See Figure . Activate left mirror switch to down position. If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, go to step  6 .
  5. Replace left outside power mirror. See POWER MIRROR ASSEMBLY  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  6. Check Light Green wire for an open between left outside mirror connector terminal No. 3 and power mirror switch connector terminal No. 1. See Figure . See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If circuit is okay, go to next step. If circuit is not okay, go to step  8 .
  7. Replace power mirror switch. See POWER MIRROR SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  8. Repair open in Light Green wire between left outside mirror connector terminal No. 3 and power mirror switch connector terminal No. 1. Recheck system operation.
  9. Disconnect left outside mirror connector. Using a test light connected to ground, probe mirror connector terminal No. 1 (Blue wire). See Figure . Activate left mirror switch to left position. If test light comes on, go to step  5 . If test light does not come on, go to next step.
  10. Check Blue wire for an open between left outside mirror connector terminal No. 1 and power mirror switch connector terminal No. 5. See Figure . See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If circuit is okay, go to step  7 . If circuit is not okay, go to next step.
  11. Repair open in Blue wire between left outside mirror connector terminal No. 1 and power mirror switch connector terminal No. 5. Recheck system operation.
  12. Disconnect left outside mirror connector. Using a test light connected to ground, probe mirror connector terminal No. 2 (Brown/Red wire). See Figure . Activate left mirror switch to up position. If test light comes on, go to step  5 . If test light does not come on, go to next step.
  13. Check Brown/Red wire for an open between left outside mirror connector terminal No. 2 and power mirror switch connector terminal No. 6. See Figure . See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If circuit is okay, go to step  7 . If circuit is not okay, go to next step.
  14. Repair open in Brown/Red wire between left outside mirror connector terminal No. 2 and power mirror switch connector terminal No. 6. Recheck system operation.
