Both Power Mirrors Inoperative
- If power mirrors system check was not performed, go to SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK
under TROUBLE SHOOTING. If power mirrors system check was performed, go to next step.
- Disconnect outside rearview mirror switch connector. Using a test light connected to ground, probe power mirror switch connector terminal No. 9 (Gray wire). See Fig 1
. If test light comes on, go to step 4
. If test light does not come on, go to next step.
- Check for an open in Gray wire between power mirror switch connector terminal No. 9 and CIG fuse (15-amp) in junction block No. 2. See WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Repair as necessary and retest system.
- Using a test light connected to battery voltage, probe power mirror switch connector terminal No. 10 (White/Black wire). If test light comes on, go to step 6
. If test light does not come on, go to next step.
- Check for an open in White/Black wire between power mirror switch connector terminal No. 10 and ground connection. See WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Repair as necessary and retest system.
- Check Brown/Red wire between power mirror switch connector terminal No. 6 and splice SP257 for an open. See WIRING DIAGRAMS
. If Brown/Red wire is okay, go to next step. If Brown/Red wire is not okay, go to step 8
.
- Replace power mirror switch. See POWER MIRROR SWITCH
under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Repair open in Brown/Red wire between power mirror switch connector terminal No. 6 and splice SP257.
