Preliminary Inspection

  1. Check fuses, and replace as necessary. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Visually inspect for broken or open wires. Check for a broken or partially broken wire inside insulation which could cause system malfunction, but prove good in a continuity/voltage check with system disconnected.
  2. Check for any stored Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTICS SYSTEM. Service any stored DTCs. See DIAGNOSTIC TESTS  . If no DTCs exist, go to next step.
  3. Ensure any aftermarket electronic equipment (if equipped) is properly installed. Repair as necessary. After repair, check cruise control system for normal operation. If problems still exist, go to SYMPTOM TESTS  .
