Test A: Power Seat Functions Inoperative
- Using DVOM, check for open in POWER SEAT circuit breaker "D" (20-amp). If circuit breaker is open, go to next step. If circuit breaker is okay, go to step 3
.
- Check for short between ground and seat adjuster switch harness connector terminal "F" (Orange wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS
. If short is found, repair short to ground in Orange wire between instrument panel fuse block and seat adjuster switch. If circuit is okay, replace POWER SEAT circuit breaker "D" (20-amp).
- Using test light, backprobe between ground and power seat switch harness connector terminal "F" (Orange wire). See Fig 1
. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step 5
.
- Using test light, backprobe between power seat switch harness connector terminals "F" (Orange wire) and "C" (Black wire). If test light illuminates, go to step 6
. If test light does not illuminate, go to step 9
.
- Repair poor connection or open in Orange wire between power seat switch terminal "F" and POWER SEAT circuit breaker terminal in instrument panel fuse block. See WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Recheck system operation.
- Check for poor connections in Orange wire at power seat switch terminal "F". If poor connection is found, go to next step. If connection is okay, go to step 8
.
- Repair poor connection at power seat switch. Recheck system operation.
- Replace power seat switch. See POWER SEAT SWITCH
under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
- Repair open in Black wire between power seat switch terminal "C" and ground. Ground point is located at base of right "B" pillar. See WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Recheck system operation.
