Circuit Description

The SERVICE THROTTLE SOON light is illuminated by PCM if diagnostics have detected certain errors related to Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) sensor. When PCM is commanding SERVICE THROTTLE SOON light on, voltage potential of circuit will be low (near zero volts). When PCM is commanding SERVICE THROTTLE SOON light off, voltage potential of circuit will be high (near battery voltage). Primary function of PCM is to supply ground to SERVICE THROTTLE SOON light control circuit.

DTC will set when the following conditions are present:

• SERVICE THROTTLE SOON light is requested on.
• Voltage to SERVICE THROTTLE SOON light control circuit is high (near battery voltage).

Or

• SERVICE THROTTLE SOON light is requested off.
• Voltage to SERVICE THROTTLE SOON light control circuit is low (near zero volts).
