Test L: Side Door Attempts To Lock While Open

  1. Disconnect power door lock control module. Using DVOM, check continuity between power door lock module connector terminal "F" and ground with side door open. See Fig 1 . If continuity is present, go to next step. If continuity is not present, go to step  3 .
  2. Replace power door lock control module. See POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Go to step  8 .
  3. Disconnect side door jam switch. Using DVOM, check continuity between side door jam switch connector terminal "B" (Black wire) and ground. If continuity does not exist, go to next step. If continuity does exist, go to step  5 .
  4. Repair open in Black wire between side door jam switch and ground. Go to step  8 .
  5. Connect a fused jumper wire between battery power and power door lock control module connector terminal "F" (White/Black wire). See Fig 1 . Connect test light between side door jam switch connector terminal "A" (White/Black wire) and ground. If test light is on, go to next step. If test light is off, go to step  7 .
  6. Replace side door jam switch. Go to step  8 .
  7. Repair open in White/Black wire between power door lock control module and side door jam switch. Go to next step.
  8. Operate system to verify repair.
