Test F: Keyless Entry System Inoperative

  1. Test transmitter operation. See TRANSMITTER TEST  under COMPONENT TESTS. Go to next step.
  2. Disconnect Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR). Connect test light between RCDLR connector terminal "E" (Orange wire) and ground. See Figure . If test light is on, go to next step. If test light is off, go to step  4 .
  3. Connect test light between RCDLR connector terminal "F" (Orange wire) and ground. See Figure . If test light is on, go to step  5 . If test light is off, go to step  6 .
  4. Repair open in Orange wire between RCDLR and splice S228. Go to step  9 .
  5. Using DVOM, check continuity between RCDLR connector terminal "N" (Black wire) and ground. See Figure . If continuity does not exist, go to step  7 . If continuity exists, go to step  8 .
  6. Repair open in Orange wire between RCDLR and splice S228. Go to step  9 .
  7. Repair open in Black wire between RCDLR and splice S206. Go to step  9 .
  8. Replace RCDLR. See REMOTE CONTROL DOOR LOCK RECEIVER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Reprogram replacement RCDLR to transmitter(s). See PROGRAMMING  . Go to next step.
  9. Operate system to verify repair.
