Automatic Door Locks

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2000 GMC Yukon XL, 2000 GMC Yukon, 2000 GMC Sierra, 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe, and 2000 Chevrolet Suburban. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Vehicles equipped with automatic door locks are programmed from factory to lock all doors when vehicle speed is above 15 MPH for more than 2 seconds and unlock all doors when ignition key is removed from ignition switch. To change options, enter programming mode, and then perform operation under desired option.

To enter programming mode:

  1. Turn ignition off. Pull all the way back on turn signal/multifunction lever and hold.
  2. Turn ignition on, and then off twice. With key off, release turn signal/multifunction lever. Door locks should lock and unlock. 10 second programming timer will begin.
  3. Select desired option from list below and perform operation to select desired mode within 10 second time. After selecting option, allow 10 second timer to expire. If programming was not complete when timer expired, repeat procedure. See step  1 .

Programming mode may be exited at any time by turning ignition on. Door locks will lock and unlock, indicating leaving programming mode. If selection has not been made, feature setting will not change.
