Shift Lock Solenoid

NOTE: Shift lock solenoid prevents gear selector lever from being moved from Park unless brake pedal is applied.
  1. Remove center console. Solenoid should be adjusted so that when ignition switch is in OFF position, solenoid is not operating (lock position). With ignition on and brake pedal depressed, solenoid is operating (unlock position). Ensure lock plate detent pin is in correct position. See Fig 1.
  2. If operation is not as specified, loosen solenoid mounting screws and reposition solenoid. With ignition off, gearshift should not shift from Park. If manual override is enabled with ignition off, gearshift should move from Park to any other gear position.
