DTC B2603: DRL Relay Output Short To Battery: Testing
- If body function controller (BFC) diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If body function controller (BFC) diagnostic system check has not been performed, go toBODY FUNCTION CONTROLLER (BFC) DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SYSTEM TESTS.
- Remove DRL relay from underhood junction block. Replace DRL relay with a known-good relay. Using scan tool, enable DRL relay. If DRL relay activates, go to step 8 . If DRL relay does not activate, go to next step.
- Remove DRL relay from underhood junction block. Back out underhood junction block Brown 68-pin connector C3 terminal B12 (Light Green/Black wire). Using DVOM, measure voltage between underhood junction block connector C3 terminal B12 (Light Green/Black wire) and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If reading is zero volts, go to step 5 . If reading is not zero volts, go to next step.
- Replace underhood junction block. After repairs, go to step 8 .
- Disconnect BFC Gray 16-pin connector C1 terminal B5 (Light Green/Black wire). Using DVOM, measure voltage between underhood junction block connector C3 terminal B12 (Light Green/Black wire) and ground. If reading is zero volts, go to next step. If reading is not zero volts, go to step 7 .
- Replace BFC. See BODY FUNCTION CONTROLLER (BFC) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to step 8 .
- Repair short to voltage in Light Green/Black wire between BFC and underhood junction block. After repairs, go to next step.
- Reconnect all disconnected components and connectors. Clear DTCs. Perform BODY FUNCTION CONTROLLER (BFC) DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SYSTEM TESTS.
