DTC B1379: Ignition 3 Fault: Testing
- If body function controller (BFC) diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If body function controller (BFC) diagnostic system check has not been performed, go toBODY FUNCTION CONTROLLER (BFC) DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SYSTEM TESTS.
- Disconnect BFC Gray 16-pin connector C1. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using DVOM, measure voltage between BFC connector C1 terminal B8 (Brown wire) and ground. See Figure . If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, go to step 6 .
- Check for poor connection at BFC connector C1 terminal B8 (Brown wire). If a poor connection exists, go to next step. If connection is okay, go to step 5 .
- Repair poor connection at BFC connector C1 terminal B8 (Brown wire). After repairs, go to step 11 .
- Replace BFC. See BODY FUNCTION CONTROLLER (BFC) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to step 11 .
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect right I/P wiring junction block Natural 68-pin connector C1. Using DVOM, measure resistance in Brown wire between BFC connector C1 terminal B8 and right I/P junction block connector C1 terminal C4. If resistance is 0-2 ohms, go to step 8 . If resistance is not 0-2 ohms, go to next step.
- Repair open in Brown wire between BFC and right I/P junction block. After repairs, go to step 11 .
- Check for a poor connection at right I/P junction block connector C1 terminal C4 (Brown wire). If a poor connection exists, go to next step. If connection is okay, go to step 10 .
- Repair poor connection at right I/P junction block connector C1 terminal C4 (Brown wire). After repairs, go to step 11 .
- Replace right I/P junction block. After repairs, go to next step.
- Reconnect all disconnected components and connectors. Clear DTCs. Perform BODY FUNCTION CONTROLLER (BFC) DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SYSTEM TESTS.
