Remote Keyless Entry Circuit
The keyless entry system allows the driver to complete the following functions from outside of the vehicle using a hand held radio transmitter:
- Unlock the door locks.
- Lock the door locks.
- Release the rear compartment lid.
The courtesy lights activate automatically when any of these functions are used. This feature is called illuminated entry.
The transmitter operates in the UHF band. The transmitter sends digitally coded signals to the remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR) completes the following functions:
- Detects the signals.
- Decodes the signals.
- Issues signals to control the following components:
- Door Lock Actuators
- Rear Compartment Lid Release Actuator
- Courtesy Lights
The keyless entry system can be programmed with as many as 4 keyless transmitters. The power door locks, the rear compartment lid release and the courtesy lights can also be operated by hand. For example, the power door locks will respond to the door lock switches.
