Power Door Locks System Check
NOTE:
For fuse and circuit breaker identification, see FUSES & CIRCUIT BREAKERS
.
- Visually inspect PWR ACC fuse (20-amp) in instrument panel fuse panel (left end of dash).
- Ensure ground G302 is clean and tight.
- Inspect for mechanical binds in the door lock system if the following conditions occur:
- One or more of the door lock motors do not operate properly.
- The other door lock motors function properly.
- If a motor's internal circuit breaker trips, the circuit breaker will not reset until the voltage is removed from the motor.
- If the left (driver's) door is the only inoperative lock, see TEST D: LEFT FRONT DOOR UNLOCK INOPERATIVE WITH TRANSMITTER .
- Remove door trim panel to access door locks. See TRIM PANEL under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in POWER DOOR LOCKS article..
- Inspect for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation. This may a system failure, but prove good in a continuity/voltage test.
- Inspect for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment. Improper installation affects the operation of other electrical systems.
