Optical Sensor
NOTE:
Optical sensor operation may be affected when exposed to bright light, causing PSD malfunction. When removing right quarter trim panel, avoid assembly exposure to bright light conditions during PSD operation.
Optical sensor is located at rear, bottom of Power Sliding Door (PSD). The optical sensor pulses as door travels. The Rear Side Door Actuator Control Module (RSDACM) tracks pulses from optical sensor as pulses increment or decrement. The RSDACM calculates the exact position of PSD.
If a bright light is shined on optical sensor, or if optical sensor is disconnected, this will confuse RSDACM as to PSDs position. PSD will need to be reinitialized. See PSD REINITIALIZATION under ADJUSTMENTS.
