DTC 8: RFA Link Circuit (Open Or Short To Battery Or Ground): Description

When any button on keyless entry transmitter is pressed, a radio frequency signal is sent to Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR). RCDLR interfaces with BCM to control door lock/unlock functions. On vehicles with BCM-4, RCDLR also interfaces with BCM to control alarm functions. RCDLR sends a digital message (based on which keyless entry transmitter button is pressed) to BCM through circuit No. 1455 (Black/White wire).

DTC 8 will set when BCM detects an open, short to battery or short to ground in circuit No. 1455 (Black/White wire). When DTC 8 is set, keyless entry system will be inoperative (power sliding door may still be operational, as it is directly controlled by RCDLR). To clear DTC 8, see CLEARING DTCS  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.

NOTE: If DTC 8 is intermittent, wiggle wires while performing the following test.
