Circuit Description

TP sensor contains a potentiometer (whose resistance changes along with throttle plate position) and a closed throttle position switch. PCM applies 5 volts to TP sensor. PCM reads voltage across TP sensor and converts it into throttle position. TP sensor resistance decreases as throttle plate opening increases (PCM voltage increases).
