Instrument Panel: Description

WARNING: Deactivate air bag system before performing any service operation. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article. DO NOT apply electrical power to any component on steering column without first deactivating air bag system. Air bag may deploy.

The instrument panel cluster gauges include an analog speedometer/odometer, fuel gauge, coolant temperature gauge, tachometer (if equipped). Warning indicators include: coolant temperature, low coolant, Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS), brake, low traction, air bag, volts, oil pressure, low oil, change oil soon, SERVICE ENGINE SOON, seat belt, high beam, security, turn signal and exterior lighting indicators.

Some models are equipped with Special Equipment Option (SEO) instrument cluster, which uses a digital speedometer module in addition to the gauges and warning indicators available on the standard cluster. The digital speedometer module receives ignition voltage, ground and Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) signal independent of instrument cluster connector. Digital speedometer and radio can be step dimmed to a night mode when headlight switch is activated.
