BRAKE Light Inoperative
- Disconnect instrument cluster Natural connector. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Connect test light between ground and instrument cluster Natural connector terminal "I" (Pink wire). If test light does not come on, repair open in Pink wire between fuse and instrument cluster.
- If test light comes on, depress parking brake. Connect test light between instrument cluster connector terminal "B" (Tan/White wire) and voltage. If test light does not come on, repair open circuit in Tan/White wire. If test light comes on, check BRAKE light bulb. If bulb is okay, replace instrument cluster. BRAKE Light Does Not Come On With Parking Brake Applied -1) Turn ignition on. If BRAKE light does not come on, go to BRAKE LIGHT INOPERATIVE procedure. If BRAKE light comes on, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off and disconnect parking brake switch connector. Using test light, backprobe between parking brake switch connector Light Blue wire and ground. Turn ignition on. If BRAKE light does not come on, go to step 4). If BRAKE light comes on, go to next step.
- Check for poor connection at park brake switch connector. If connection is okay, replace park brake switch.
- Disconnect Daytime Running Lights (DRL) module Blue connector. Using test light, backprobe between DRL module Blue connector terminal "D" (Tan/White wire) and ground. Turn ignition on. If BRAKE light does not come on, go to step 6). If BRAKE light comes on, go to next step.
- Using DVOM, check for continuity of Light Blue wire between DRL module Blue connector and park brake switch connector. If continuity exists, go to step 7). If continuity does not exist, go to step 8).
- Repair open Tan/White wire between DRL module Blue connector and splice S207. S207 is located in instrument panel harness on left side of instrument panel, 2 inches from flasher breakout.
- Replace DRL module.
- Repair open Light Blue wire between DRL module Blue connector and park brake switch connector.
