Dual-zone A/C system is a vacuum and electronically controlled heating, ventilating and air conditioning system. Both electronic and vacuum circuits determine air intake and discharge locations. Electronic circuits also control mode, A/C compressor clutch operation, blower motor operation and discharge air temperature.
Driver can select a desired interior temperature, blower speed and one of 8 different modes of operation from system control panel. One mode is a fully automatic dual-zone mode. The passenger, through a separate passenger-side temperature control selector, is able to increase or decrease air discharge temperature on that side of vehicle. Displayed set temperature will not react to passenger control.
