Rear Liftgate Does Not Unlock With Remote Switch

  1. Check for normal operation of Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitters. If both transmitters do not unlock liftgate, go to next step. If one transmitter does not unlock liftgate, check transmitter battery. If battery is okay, replace transmitter.
  2. Connect test light between RKE module terminal "B" (Light Green wire) and ground. If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, repair open circuit in Light Green wire.
  3. Position gear shift in Park. Disconnect RKE module connector located under right side of instrument cluster, behind air duct. Connect self-powered test light between RKE module connector C2, terminal "H" (Orange/Black wire) and ground. If test light does not come on, go to next step. If test light comes on, replace RKE module.
  4. Connect self-powered test light between park/neutral position and back-up light switch connector C1, terminal "A" (Orange/Black wire) and ground. If test light does not come on, go to next step. If test light does come on, repair open circuit in Orange/Black wire.
  5. Connect self-powered test light between park/neutral position and back-up light switch connector C2, terminal "D" (Black/White wire) and ground. If test light comes on, replace park/neutral position and back-up light switch. If test light does not light, repair open circuit in Black/White wire.
