DTC 71: EBTCM Internal Fault: Notes

EBTCM performs various diagnostic checks on itself. DTC 71 will be set if EBTCM detects an internal problem or pump motor supply circuit is open or shorted to ground. SERVICE ABS and SERVICE ASR indicators will illuminate and ABS/TCS will be disabled.

1. Verifies power distribution MAXI fuse feeding pump motor relay is good.
2. Measures voltage from pump motor supply circuit using EBTCM ground line to complete circuit.
3. Checks for good connections from wiring harness to EBTCM.
4. Checks if malfunction was false. If DTC 71 resets, replace EBTCM.
