Diagnostic Aids
Intermittent problem may be caused by poor connection, rubbed-through wire insulation or broken wire inside insulation. Enhanced Diagnostic feature of Tech 1 scan tool can be used to check frequency of problem.
If frequency of problem is high, but problem is currently intermittent, use a DVOM to check for high coil resistance. Measure resistance between ABS relay ignition circuit terminal and EBCM/EBTCM ABS relay enable control terminal. If resistance is greater than 100 ohms, replace ABS relay.
Any circuit suspected of causing intermittent problem should be checked thoroughly for backed-out terminals, improper mating, broken connector locks, damaged terminals or poor terminal-to-wiring connections.
