Code 01 Or 02, In-Car Temperature Sensor Test
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Unplug in-car air temperature sensor connector. In-car air temperature sensor is mounted behind right side of instrument panel. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage at Dark Green wire at in-car air temperature sensor connector.
- If voltmeter indicates 5 volts, go to next step. If voltmeter does not indicate 5 volts and if Code 01 was set, check for short in Dark Green wire. If Code 02 was set, check for short to voltage or open circuit in Dark Green wire. If wire is okay, replace A/C-heater control unit.
- If voltmeter indicated 5 volts in step 2), measure voltage between Dark Green and Yellow wires at sensor connector. If voltmeter does not indicate 5 volts, check and/or repair Yellow wire for an open.
- If voltmeter indicated 5 volts in steps 2) and 3), check A/C control unit connectors. Clean or repair connectors as necessary. If connectors are okay, replace in-car air temperature sensor.
