Power Door Locks Operate Normally But Automatic Door Lock Feature Does Not Operate Properly

  1. Disconnect multifunction alarm module connector at convenience center. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Unlock door locks. Connect a jumper wire between connector terminal "C" (Light Blue wire) and battery voltage. If power door locks do not lock when jumper wire is connected, repair open circuit in Light Blue wire.
  2. If power door locks lock and vehicle is equipped with automatic transaxle, go to next step. If vehicle is equipped with manual transaxle, turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage between module connector terminal "A" (Dark Green wire) and ground. If less than battery voltage is present, repair open circuit in Dark Green wire. If more than battery voltage is present, replace multifunction alarm module.
  3. On automatic transaxle equipped vehicles, put ignition switch in RUN position. Put gear selector in Park. Measure voltage between module connector terminal "A" (Orange/Black wire) and battery voltage. If battery voltage is not present, check Orange/Black wire for an open circuit. If wire is okay, replace transaxle position switch.
  4. If battery voltage is present, repeat step 3) with gear selector in Drive. If battery voltage is not present, replace multifunction alarm module.
  5. If battery voltage is present, check Orange/Black wire for a short circuit. If a short circuit is not present, check transaxle position switch adjustment. If adjustment is okay, replace transaxle position switch.
