Code A014 - Enable Relay Contacts Or Fuse Open: Notes
Ignition voltage is supplied through terminal No. 5 of enable relay. EBCM energizes enable relay pull-in coil by completing ground circuit at EBCM terminal F3. The magnetic field created will close enable relay contacts to supply battery voltage to EBCM, providing power to motors and solenoids.
This code monitors availability of voltage and current to motors and solenoids. Code A014 indicates voltage is not available, and ABS operation is not possible.
NOTE:
Test numbers refer to numbers on diagnostic chart.
- This step determines whether Code A016 is also set as current or history. If Code A016 is also set, proceed to that chart first.
- This step verifies that malfunction is currently present.
- This step checks for battery voltage at enable relay terminals No. 4 and 5.
- This step checks to see if malfunctioning EBCM is cause of Code A014.
- This step checks for an open in switched battery circuit from enable relay to EBCM.
- This step checks for open in relay control circuit.
- This step determines whether fault is intermittent or caused by malfunctioning relay.
- This step determines if low voltage condition was caused by open in voltage feed circuits to relay or by vehicle charging system malfunction.
- This step checks for intermittent malfunction.
