Water Deflector: Notes

Waterproof deflectors are used to seal the door inner panel and prevent entry of water into the body. The deflector is secured by an adhesive sealer material along the front edges, rear edges and bottom, and by the application of waterproof sealing tape. Whenever work is performed where the water deflector has been disturbed, the deflector must be properly sealed and taped to the inner panel to prevent waterleaks. For service sealing, strip caulking is recommended if additional sealing material is required.
