Front Wipers Inoperative In All Modes

  1. Turn ignition on. Using a voltmeter, check for battery voltage between White wire (terminal "N") at front wiper switch and ground. If voltage exists, proceed to next step. If voltage does not exist, check for defective fuse or open in White wire between fuse block and wiper switch terminal "N".
  2. Remove electrical connector from wiper motor. Using test light, check for battery voltage between White wire of wiper motor connector and ground. If voltage exists, proceed to next step. If voltage does not exist, check for defective connection at wiper motor or open in White wire between fuse block and wiper motor connector.
  3. Place wiper switch in LO position. Using voltmeter, measure voltage between Gray wire of wiper motor connector and ground. If battery voltage exists, proceed to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, check for open in Gray wire between wiper switch and front wiper motor. If wiring circuit is okay, replace wiper switch.
  4. Place wiper switch in high speed. Using voltmeter, measure voltage between Purple wire of wiper motor connector and ground. If battery voltage exists, proceed to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, check for open in Purple wire between wiper switch and front wiper motor. If wiring is okay, replace wiper switch.
  5. Measure voltage between Purple wire and Black wire of wiper motor connector. If battery voltage does not exist, check for open in Black wire between front wiper motor connector and ground. If battery voltage exists, check for defective connections at wiper motor. If connections are okay, replace front wiper motor.
