Low Coolant Module Test

  1. Disconnect low coolant module connector. Turn ignition on. Disconnect Yellow/Black wire (low coolant probe wire) from low coolant probe. The Low Coolant Module is located behind right side of instrument panel. The module is identified by a 4-pin connector with Black, Yellow/Black, Pink/Black and Gray/White wires.
  2. Measure voltage between module Pink/Black wire and ground. Battery voltage should exist. If battery voltage does not exist, check for an open in Pink/Black wire.
  3. Measure voltage between low coolant module Pink/Black wire and module Black (ground) wire. Battery voltage should exist. If battery voltage does not exist, check for an open in Black wire.
  4. Measure voltage at Gray/White wire from low coolant module to ground. Battery voltage should exist. If no voltage exists, check for an open in wire between low coolant module and instrument cluster and printed circuit for damage.
  5. Measure voltage between Pink/Black wire to Yellow/Black wire. No voltage should exist. If voltage exists, check Yellow/Black wire for a short to ground. Yellow/Black wire goes to low coolant probe.
