Secondary Ignition Wire Test

  1. Turn ignition off. Remove distributor cap. Remove ignition module and pick-up coil from distributor.
  2. Disconnect Red and White wires from ignition module and separate pick-up coil. Measure resistance across wires. Resistance should be 130-190 ohms.
  3. If resistance is not as specified, replace pick-up coil assembly. DO NOT  reverse pick-up coil Red and White wires. Reversed connections may cause damage to pick-up coil and/or ignition module.
