Air Gap
Air gap on models with 4A-LC engines is adjustable. Models with 4A-GE engines have a non-adjustable air gap.
On both models, remove distributor cap. Check air gap between pick-up coil and signal rotor, using a non-magnetic feeler gauge. Air gap should be .008-.016" (.2-.4 mm). See Fig 1. If gap is not as specified on models with 4A-LC engines, adjust to within specifications. If gap is not as specified on models with 4A-GE engines, replace distributor.
