Coolant Temperature Gauge: Notes

  1. Disconnect Yellow/White wire at sending unit. Ground wire using a test light. Turn ignition on. Verify test light is on and gauge needle fluctuates after a few seconds. If needle is inactive, remove gauge from cluster.
  2. Connect ohmmeter leads across temperature gauge terminals on back of instrument cluster. Reading should be 55 ohms. If gauge operates normally, disconnect temperature gauge sending unit wire connector. Turn ignition on. Using a DC voltmeter, ensure Yellow/White wire to sending unit is supplied with 2-7 volts.
